Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information MatchTick (“we”, “us”) collects when you visitmatchtick.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or payment details to use the site.
- Like almost every website, our servers keep basic technical logs.
- We show ads through a third-party advertising network, and we use analytics to understand traffic. Both may set cookies or use similar identifiers.
- You can control or block cookies in your browser at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us
Only what you choose to send — for example, if you email us a correction or a question, we receive your message and your email address so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
When you load a page, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you request, referring pages, and the date and time. This is used to serve the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes:
- Analytics — to count visits and understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. This does not identify you personally.
- Advertising — our advertising partner may set cookies or read device identifiers to show and cap ads and to measure them. See below.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will still work, though some ads may become less relevant.
Advertising
MatchTick is supported by advertising served through a third-party ad network (PopAds). We do not sell your personal information. The ad network is an independent company with its own privacy practices, and it may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and interactions with ads in order to display and measure advertising. We do not control the cookies or data collected by the ad network. You can review the network’s practices in its own privacy policy atpopads.net/privacy.html.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and secure the site.
- To understand usage and improve what we publish.
- To display advertising that keeps the site free.
- To respond to messages you send us.
We do not sell your personal information.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site — a hosting and content-delivery provider, an advertising network, and an analytics provider. Each processes data only as needed to provide its service. Links from MatchTick to broadcasters or other sites are provided for convenience; those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the UK/EU or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not run accounts, most visitors are anonymous to us. You can:
- block or clear cookies in your browser;
- use your device’s controls to limit ad tracking;
- contact us at contact@matchtick.com with any request, and we will respond as required by law.
Children
MatchTick is a general-audience sports site and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Data retention and security
Technical logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the site, then discarded or aggregated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited data we handle.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
